Try "compare the branches and recommend one" or "which branch is better". The assistant reads each branch's title, where it split off and the messages inside it, then answers from that real content. If there are no branches, it says so.
It only reads branches you can already see. Full comparisons in chat work on OpenAI and Anthropic models; on other models, use the Compare view or the Merge Board.
